Nice 340 class bull taken on lodge hunt October 18th, 2007 Our hunts are based from the Lodge, located adjacent to Bridger Teton Wilderness Boundary starting in mid-October.
We use horses to access the Wilderness Area where the bull elk live. You have a hot full breakfast every morning then ride your horse often leaving in darkness accompanied by your guide to great elk habitat to locate and hunt your quary. Lunch is usually a sandwich or two, fruit, candy, chips, yogurt, and cookies to keep you going through lunch and with plenty to snack on later. Dinner and your favorite beverage will awaiting your arrival back at the Lodge after dark. Of course, showers, the internet and telephones are available at the Lodge just in case you need to stay in touch.
Sleep in luxiourious 300 thread count sheets with down duvets and pillows. Lodge hunts can be physically demanding as we usually depart on horseback before first light and come back after dark, the horses do the heavy work carrying us uphill as necessary to find the habitat the elk are currently utilizing. Lodge hunts often involve snow which can make for excellent or challenging hunting depending on weather we get too little or too much.... We can hunt from the lodge at 7300' up to 9000' depending on where the elk are, and with 2 elk feedgrounds very close to the lodge sometimes the biggest bulls are taken during this period as the elk move down from the higher elevations because of deepening snow.
Call us now1-800-788-5401 to book your prefered dates during October. Bull season closes October 31 with cow only hunt (Type 2) from November 1 to November 6th
